Last week, I wrote about the second brain and the amazing book by Tiago Forte.
That book inspired me, and I decided to build my own second brain. Basically, centralize all my knowledge and processes.
I have been a random note-taker for some time now but have never really stayed organized with it.
This was my attempt at getting there.
I followed the PARA method recommended by Tiago. I found it to be a very intuitive way to go about organizing my notes.
When it comes to tools, I quickly realized that a single note-taking app won’t suffice my purpose. The way I manage my work is very different from how I manage my personal life and interests.
I decided to use Notion for work and Evernote for personal stuff. Notion is powerful in the sense that it gives me a lot more flexibility to organize and structure content. Evernote, on the other hand, is simple and intuitive but not very flexible, and that works perfectly for my personal stuff.
I am halfway done with this organizing and can already see a huge impact on my output, knowledge retention, and focus. I will share more details once I am fully through this journey. I will also have a lot to report on. So stay tuned, and if you haven’t already started thinking about this, I highly recommend you read the book - Second brain by Tiago Forte.
Article of the Week
Sunday Brain Food Newsletter - Shane Parrish
I am recommending a newsletter today instead of an article.
I have subscribed to more than 15 newsletters, and this one tops the charts when it comes to my engagement.
Shane Parrish is quickly becoming my favorite source of knowledge. So much so that, this year, I gifted myself a paid membership of his content and forums for my birthday.
I have learned so much from his articles and podcasts. His way of looking at things is very different, and this newsletter has all that knowledge compressed beautifully. He not only creates amazing content himself but also curates some of the best resources on the internet.
I highly recommend subscribing to his newletter.
That’s it for today. Have a focused week ahead. See you next Sunday!
